Clinical Hypnosis
How can it help?
Hypnosis is a natural trance state that you go in and out of everyday. Have you ever missed your exit on the highway while driving because you were so deep in thought? Lost time reading a book? These are examples of natural hypnotic states. The easiest way to describe hypnotic trance is by the brain wave state. During waking hours when you work or attend school, your conscious mind analyzes and solves problems with a beta brain wave state. When we relax or meditate, we can shift our brain into alpha or theta brain waves. It is only then that our subconscious mind is accessible and open to change. It is the role of the hypnotherapist to induce this alpha brain wave state in efforts to speak to the subconscious parts of the brain. The subconscious mind is where all the habits, memories, and personality traits. Therefore, if you have lingering baggage from old traumas or habits you want to break- they must be accessed through the subconscious mind while the critical conscious mind remains an observer. You are never NOT in control during a hypnotic session. You cannot be brainwashed or convinced to do anything against your moral beliefs or wants. Your subconscious is your biggest ally, protector, and friend. It is your gut feeling or instinct that keeps you from walking down that dark alley.
Sessions typically take 1-2 hours and after your feel refreshed and rested as if you taken a nap!
